For all that struggling and strife, a lot of character was built. I also learned about all the responsibilities that go with running a business. I wish there was someone write an article like this for me back when I was getting started. Consequently, it would have made daily life much easier. In the same way, I hope to help all of the new and upcoming window washing companies out there who might be reading this. If you just started your own window washing company, you should know it’s hard.
Taking your window washing companies to the next level.
After you start to make some traction, and people start referring you, you know you have something. I can’t stress this enough. You must go above and beyond when it comes to the quality of your cleanings. You must be more meticulous than any of your competition is willing to be. If you are intentional about offering the highest quality services in your area, you will succeed. Once you have a steady amount of window cleaning clients, there are several directions you can take this. You have the option of continuing to do all the cleaning yourself. This option closely resembles owning your own job though. It’s not ideal. On the other hand, you can take your business to the next level. In order to do this, you must focus more on growing the business instead of cleaning windows all the time. It’s time to start hiring.
Hiring employees for your window washing companies.
If you want to take your business to the next level, you have to start hiring. By hiring somebody to handle all of the window cleanings, you will have more time to grow the business. Growing the business will consist mostly of marketing. Additionally, you will also need to spend a lot of time managing the business. This will include employee management and customer management. I personally have not yet hired my first employee. When I do though, I’m going to be very particular about my employees’ work. I will be going to every job they finish and making sure they did a fantastic job. My plan is to take before and after pictures of the jobs, and the crew at work. I am looking forward to this part of the job immensely. Marketing and business management is my passion. The cleaning part isn’t enjoyable.
Moving from the laborer to manager in your window washing company.
Just imagine yourself not having to clean a single window ever again. Imagine yourself adding more and more customers to your clientele list. I’ve been dreaming about moving to a manager position for a long time now. After cleaning windows for 6 years, I am ready to move on to bigger and better things. I’m ready to become the visionary for gleaning glass. This is the next level that I’ve been longing to reach. Furthermore, I believe I will achieve this dream in the coming clean season. It’s currently January and temperatures are hovering right around freezing. Whenever March rolls around, things are going to get crazy. This whole winter I will be working on our search engine optimization so that we hit the ground running come spring. I envision the phone ringing off the hook on a daily basis!
Building the Business
Initially, when you hire someone, you will most likely make less then what you were when you were cleaning windows by yourself. As you add more and more accounts to your clientele list your business will grow. As you bid more and more projects every day your income will begin to grow. With this in mind, it might be time to hire your second employee. You don’t want to be booked out two or three months with one employee. Furthermore, it’s better to hire a second employee and only be booked out a month. In the same way, whenever you start getting booked further out, it might be time to hire a third employee. What an exciting time in your business. I know it’s going to be an exciting time in my business. I expect my window cleaning companies to double this year. 2018 is going to be incredible!
